Chlodwig Poth

The first satirical drawings by Chlodwig Poth (1930-2004), was born
1944 in the air-raid shelters in Berlin, after the war he studied art in Berlin and started with the Publication of his caricatures.

 


In 1955 he moved to Frankfurt am Main.
Here he founded in 1962 with Hans Traxler and the publishers Bärmeier & Nikel the monthly magazine Pardon, in 1979 he was one of the Founding the Final Titanic satirical magazine.
To his the most successful works Alternative milieu study “Mein
progressive everyday life ”and the series “Last Exit Sossenheim”.

In 1997 he became be the first with the satirical press “Göttinger Elk”.

So if you want to taste a little German humor, visit the Caricature Museum next to the cathedral.
